Biographical sketch

Born January 1981 in a small coastal village in the North of Portugal. First arrived in South Africa for a short visit to UKZN in February 2013 as a visiting post-doctoral fellow to collaborate on a coastal research project aimed at investigating storm-induced beach erosion. This collaboration has developed into a full research project on nearshore morphodynamics funded by the European Union, which led me to move to South Africa and be based at UKZN since February 2016.

Education:
University of Coimbra BSc Honours in Physical Geography (1999-2003)
University of Algarve PgDip Coastal and Marine Studies (2005-2007)
